There are many businesses applying for karaoke business licenses. However, not all enterprises can succeed in implementing this procedure.
- Conditions for granting karaoke business licenses
Karaoke business is a conditional one. Therefore, when an enterprise wishes to start a karaoke business, it must carry out the procedures for applying for a karaoke business license in accordance with the current law and satisfy the following conditions:
– Karaoke rooms must be at least 20 m2 large each, excluding the area of water closets.
– The door of a karaoke room must be made of transparent glass, allowing a full view of the entire room from outside;
– Installation of interior door locks or bolts or alarming devices to cope with competent state agencies’ inspection is not allowed;
– Karaoke parlors must be at least 200 m far from schools, hospitals, religious and belief institutions, historical-cultural relics and state administrative agencies;
– Operation of karaoke parlors in residential quarters must obtain written agreement of adjacent households;
– Compliance with the approved karaoke business planning;
- Application dossier for a karaoke business license
– An application for a karaoke business permit, clearly stating the venue of the karaoke parlor, the number of rooms and the area of each room;
– A legally valid copy of the business registration certificate.
- Time limit for the application of karaoke business permits:
07 working days after receiving complete and valid dossiers.

- Expenses for the application of karaoke business permits:
In centrally-run and provincial cities: – From 01 to 05 rooms: VND 6,000,000/ permit; – From 06 rooms or more: VND 12,000,000/ permit.
In other areas: – From 01 to 05 rooms: VND 3,000,000/ permit; – From 06 rooms or more: VND 6,000,000/ permit.
- Procedures for the application of karaoke business permits
Step 1: Prepare all dossiers of application for karaoke business permits according to the provisions of law.
Step 2: Submit directly at the Division of receiving and returning results, or send by post.
Step 3: After the competent authority receives the valid dossiers, the applicant shall receive a receipt and the Division of receiving and returning results will return the result on the date stated on the receipt.
